More than 100 enterprises from Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Shandong and Guangdong took part in the China Textiles and Garment Fair (Europe) that opened in Dusseldorf, Germany on July 29, China’s commerce ministry said in a statement. The products exhibited in the fair spread over 3000 square metres, included men and women’s clothing, children’s garments, underwear, swimsuit, hats, scarves, materials and fabrics and home textiles. One-stop service areas were provided at the exhibition for consultancy services to the participating Chinese enterprises with regard to the business activities in Germany. Europe is a major export market for China’s textile and garment. According to China’s customs department, the country’s textiles and garment export to Germany in 2014 was valued at $11.4 billion. The China Textiles and Garment Fair (Europe) is part of a platform to improve the image of China’s products and enterprises through intense and focused publicity and to seek and establish new trade channels with the aid of the fair, the statement said.
