Calik Holding, one of Turkey’s leading industrial enterprises, plans to develop the textile industry of Georgia, according to Georgian media reports. The chairman of the company Ahmet Calik met Prime Minister of Georgia recently to discuss plans of investment in the textile sector. In the past, the Turkish giant along with Georgia’s Partnership Fund, helped construct a $200 million combined cycle power plant in Gardabani, Georgia. One of the largest industrial enterprises in Turkey, Calik Holding employs about 24,000 people in 17 countries. The Group conducts businesses in Central Asia, Balkans, Middle East and Africa as one of the leading Turkish investors with around $7.5 billion of annual consolidated asset size. Besides textiles, Calik Holding currently operates in energy, telecom, construction, finance and mining sectors.
