US Ambassador Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat visited two garment units of Concord Group at South Salna in Gazipur recently. The two units are ‘Jeacon Garments Ltd’ and ‘Concord Fashion Export Ltd’, says a press release. Bernicat looked around different floors of the factory and expressed her satisfaction regarding various aspects of facilities, including safety measures, working environment, secured power system, fire-fighting system, stairs, and quality of garments. After the visit, she exchanged her views with the management and employees of the organisations. She said if other factories of the country follow the rules properly to produce quality garments, buyers must come. The rules necessary for the smooth operation are strictly followed in this factory. She was very delighted to learn that the factory was the first ACCORD certified company in Bangladesh. Chairman SM Kamaluddin, managing director SK Lala, deputy managing director Shahriar Kamal, executive director Jahangir Kabir Rasel and other high officials of the group were present during the visit of the US Ambassador.
