Bangladesh Export Processing Zones authority (BEPZA) has set up a new Fire Service and Civil Defense Station in Adamjee EPZ to strengthen the fire prevention and workplace safety as well as the operations of rescue and assistance in fire disaster. BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan inaugurated the newly built Fire Station in Adamjee EPZ premises onWednesday at Shiddirgonj, Narayanganj. This initiative has taken by BEPZA to ensure the safety of lives and property of entrepreneurs stationed in the EPZ.  The fire station has four emergency tenders vehicles equipped with all modern facilities including fire fighting appliances. Since there is scarcity of plots in the EPZs, the BEPZA has constructed standard factory buildings in Adamjee EPZ. BEPZA Chief physically supervised the under construction factory building at AEPZ and also inspected the fire security and preventing measures as per building code. He examined the factory building’s fire doors, fire exits, emergency stairs, wide stairs for evacuation during earthquake and fire accidents, in-built water line for fire protection and check fire hose pipe drill. The Executive Chairman was accompanied by Md. Mosaddeque Ali, Member (Engineering), Md. Ashraful Kabir, General Manager of Adamjee EPZ, Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (PR) and Lt. Col Md. Lokman Ali, General Manager (Security).
