Senior Vice President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) Humayun Rashid Tuesday called upon the Thai businessmen to invest in Bangladesh in larger scale, reports BSS. “Our infrastructure sector is a potential sector for Thai investment,” he said while meeting with a 20-member Thai business team led by Chokedee Kaewsang, Director General of Board of Investment (BOI) at DCCI in the city. President of Thai Bangladesh Business Council (TBBC) Mingpant Chaya was also present during the business meeting. Welcoming the delegation, Humayun Rashid said Bangladesh is an investment friendly country and invited Thai investors to invest in light engineering, agriculture, agro-processing, automotive industry, leather and backward linkage industry of Bangladesh. He said Bangladesh government is going to establish 100 economic zones in the country and urged Thai investors to invest in these economic zones to enjoy attractive investment packages and incentives. Chokedee Kaewsang said Thai businessmen are willing to invest in the potential areas of Bangladesh. Among others, DCCI Vice President K. Atique-e-Rabbani and Directors Mohammad Shahjahan Khan and AKD Khair Mohammad Khan were present in the meeting.
