Serbia’s Maille Pirotex to open apparel manufacturing unit

Serbian textile company Maille Pirotex is planning to open an apparel manufacturing unit in its factory in Free Zone Pirot and employ 150 to 200 workers, according to deputy managing director Gorica Slavkovic. Early this month, it launched a project for training new employees at the factory in collaboration with Serbia’s employment agency. The company decided to invest in Pirot due to tax benefits and easy access to workforce, a website focussed on business intelligence for south-eastern Europe quoted company managing director Predrag Vukcevic as telling Serbian public broadcaster RTS. Maille Pirotex, owned by French citizen Journo Richard Meyer, launched its factory in Free Zone Pirot in May and exports its entire output.
