Faruque Hassan said, Bangladesh aims to realize the vision of higher growth, where export-oriented industries will play an important role in promoting economic development. As our economy is growing, import-export and investment are also increasing, so there is a need to increase the capacity of the country’s infrastructure.

He said these while addressing the panel discussion of Bangladesh Aviation Summit 2023 held in Dhaka on  March 22.

He said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has witnessed significant development in infrastructure to pave the way for a more prosperous Bangladesh. It will play an important role in exploiting the vast opportunities that Bangladesh has in front of it.

Faruque Hasan said in his speech that in this era of fast fashion, the shorter the lead time, the better. Air cargo has been playing a commendable role behind the development of Bangladesh’s garment industry. Dependence on air freight is increasing day by day in times of crisis.

He also said, “While sea freight constitutes most of our import and export trade, air freight is on the rise since our overall trade is increasing. To meet the demand of the buyers and lead time, we have to ship the goods by air. Also, some high-end fashionable and sensitive products need to be transported very quickly by air.”

Mahbubul Anam, Managing Director of Expo Freight, and Bernard de lEstoile and Freighter Marketing Director of Airbus Commercial also spoke at the panel titled “Unleashing the potential of Bangladesh’s air cargo market.”

The Bangladesh Aviation Summit-2023 was organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism of Bangladesh in collaboration with the United Kingdom and France. Airbus, the world’s renowned aircraft manufacturer, has supported the organization of this conference.
