A four-day training session on ‘Sustainability in Leather Sector of Bangladesh’ concluded in Dhaka on July 28.   Leather Engineers and Technologists Society of Bangladesh (LETSB) and ECOLEBAN jointly organised the training course. Starting from July 25, the training programme focused on ‘Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Practices in the Leather Sector’, said a press release. ECOLEBAN, a 4-year project (2014-2018), supported by the European Union (EU) under the SWITCH Asia Programme, promotes resource efficiency and sustainability of the leather sector in Bangladesh throughout the whole value chain of the leather-related products such as footwear and other leather goods. It aims at implementing environmental management systems and eco-labeling schemes in the small and medium enterprises of the leather sector.
