Bangladesh envoy meets LuLu Group International director

In addition to enhanced contacts at the government level, the embassy said it is also increasing direct communication with various non-governmental business organisations and companies.

As part of the embassy’s initiative, Bangladesh ambassador to Qatar Md Jashim Uddin and LuLu Group International director Dr Mohamed Althaf held a meeting on Tuesday morning. LuLu Group International is one of the leading grocery, electronics and readymade garment outlets in Qatar, the embassy stressed in a statement.

During the meeting, it was agreed to organise a webinar to connect LuLu Group with exporters of Bangladeshi readymade garments, foodstuffs and vegetables, among others.

Dr Althaf has given an assurance on providing all support for the display and promotion of Bangladeshi jute products, handicrafts and seasonal vegetables by setting up a ‘Bangladesh Corner’ in LuLu outlets, the embassy said.

He also expressed interest in importing fruits, vegetables and readymade garments from Bangladesh.

Embassy counsellor (Political and Economic Affairs) Md Mahbur Rahman and LuLu Group regional manager Shanavas P M were present at the meeting.
