CPA asks ICDs to quickly shift import containers from Chittagong Port

The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) in a letter written recently to the President of Bangladesh Inland Container Depots Association has asked the association to direct its members to expedite shifting of ICD-bound empty as well as goods-laden import containers from the port yard.

As per reports, CPS terminal officer sent this letter to the concerned personal even as it also dispatched separate letters to six private ICDs including BM Container Depot, EBIL Depot, KDS Logistics Limited, Summit Alliance Port Limited, Shafi Motors Limited and Port Link Depot in Sitakunda and Chittagong to shift their containers in the next three days from the port.

The CPA further, reportedly, maintained that due to increased number of containers, the port yards are currently facing acute shortage of space while calling for quick shifting of ICD-bound containers from the port to respective designated ICDs.
