Bangladeshi apparel makers bag Target’s award

Target US, the big box leading department store chain, awarded its suppliers with Target Australia Sourcing Annual Suppliers Conference & Awards (Catalyst 2022) where Bangladeshi exporters showed the best performances bagged most precious awards left behind other competitor countries.

Target Us supports their suppliers across the globe and recognize them with the annual awards to motivate them. The retailer awards its vendors with six categories, including Rising Star Award, Design and Product Innovation Award, Partnership Award, Quality Award, Sustainability Award and Supplier of the Year Award.

In a recent virtually organized event leading Bangladeshi garment manufacturer KDS Garment Industries Ltd won the ‘Supplier of the Year award’, from the leading department store chain Target US.

The company was awarded the due to fulfilling conditions like shipment greater than $5 million, support in all key initiatives, Delivered in Full, On Time (DIFOT) above 94 per cent, etc.

KDS Garment Industries Ltd, with its 15 years of experiences in garment and home textile manufacturing, trading and retail, adheres to international compliance requirements closely, and has taken many social initiatives for the betterment of the lives of its workforce, going even beyond foreign requirements.

Partnership Award was won by Renaissance Apparels, Bangladesh for being a trustable and sustainable partner. The company has always been on refining the quality and maintaining harmony with clients, employees, and everyone involved in the journey. Another company from China also won the award.

Two companies of China named Extra Gain Hong Kong Limited and Qingdao Mirtos Textiles Co., got the Design and Product Innovation Award while two other companies won the Quality Award (Tyche Industry Limited, China and Yantai Pacific Home Fashion Co.).

On the other hand, Rising Star Award was won by Paramount Products (Delhi) for becoming a key partner in a short span of time, there are conditions of having more than a year of a business partnership, ability to support strategic initiatives, great design inputs, costs and flexibility, besides having the potential to grow together and shared long-term vision.

Mridul Dasgupta, GM, (Sourcing and Quality) Target Australia Sourcing digitally announced these awards. Various vendors were appreciated for their core strength and extra efforts to reach this level.
